It's also important because if a person doesn't love themselves, they probably don't consider themselves worthy of love from another and thus will be inherently distrustful or contemtuous/scornful of someone who tries to bestow love on them is? When someone has a good sense of self, loves themselves, and know that they are worth loving...they allow themselves to be loved because they know they deserve to be, and they know they are worth loving. If he doesn't feel worthy of being loved, and I mean truly and honestly, or has some self image problems, some past problems, self confidence issues, etc...he won't feel like he's worth loving, and block people out because he doesn't feel worthy about it. I think being able to be loved, starts from within. Everyone deserves to be loved, but not everyone thinks they should be. And its disocvering the reason why thats important.
